Here’s a little throwback to a great interview I did this past April with John Feal.
In the aftermath of 9/11 thousands of first responders generously gave their time and effort to rescue survivors and clean up debris. But many are paying the price now after getting sick due to exposure. I sat down with John Feal of the FealGood, a champion of first responders who played a huge role in passing legislation to ensure compensation for any individual who suffered physical harm or was killed as a result of the attack or debris removal efforts. In 2011, the Zadroga Bill was officially signed into law by the President. It will come under review again soon.
Feal is a first responder himself who was injured and also a recipient of the New York State Congressional Medal of Honor for Civilians Above and Beyond.
