A proposal to require labels on food products containing ingredients from genetically modified crops is getting closer to a vote in the New York Legislature. Stacie Orell, campaign director for GMO Free New York is up in Albany this week to push for a debate on the issue.
Orell believes labels will help consumers learn what they are eating and at what cost: to the environment and their own health.
Several other states already have labeling laws, with others set to adopt similar legislation once other states follow suit.
I sat down with Stacie for Hofstra’s Morning Wake Up Call earlier today on 88.7 fm Radio Hofstra University to get the scoop on GMOs. Take a listen!
